A day I know I will never forget and a day that broke my sisters heart in two.
Brendan Mahoney died in a car crash. He was one of Holly's ex-boyfriends with whom she became best friends and even roommates with. He had also become a friend to our family. They both loved each other but for whatever reason couldn't see it working out. He was an infectiously happy person. Always smiling and joking around. For my graduation he blew up a picture of himself fishing and wrote "To My Number 1 fan! - Brendan Mahoney"...Really?
I had put that picture in my closet thinking what am I going to do with this thing? After I heard the news I dug it out gave it to my sister. It kills me to see her in such pain. I don't think anyone will ever understand the relationship they had. They don't need to. She knows and he knows too.
That 'up to something' grin will be greatly missed. My sister loved you and as I'm sure you've noticed many, many other people do as well. RIP Brendan
