I've been pretty terrible about taking pictures. For no other reason than I'm kinda lazy...I don't feel like carrying that stinking camera everywhere so most pictures are actually on my phone. Scott and I did get a really nice brand new camera for a wedding present...but I'm not all that savvy on it and like I said...its just a lot easier to use my phone. Luckily, my phone takes pretty good pictures....
I created a Bucket List for this summer and we've done MOST of the stuff on it. Course, I think there was only like 8 things (I realize now how much I didn't write down). I'll try and get pictures up sometime. My email is being slow right now.
We went to KC for Scott's stock car ride along. When I booked this (last year) they didn't have it in the Des Moines area. My mom and dad came with us and afterwards we went to the KC Zoo. Mostly just for a change of pace from the Omaha Zoo. But I think we'll just stick with Omaha, it's way better. KC was too much walking for not a lot of animals. Oh well, two birds with one stone.
We also went swimming...like at a swimming pool. Not just the lake this year, which I like because I don't have to watch Boston as closely, since he wont go anywhere near where he can't touch. But also because there is no drama. I love my lake people but MAN...it's just tiring. Constant bitching and fighting and too much drinking. Anyways, we did go to the lake a bit but also took the time to do other things.
We went to Good Guys with my Dad, like we do every year. Boston walked around the whole time with little to no complaint until close to leaving time. That was about 4 hours of this little kid walking around in the heat. He's kind of awesome. :)
We saw the 4th of July fireworks at Prairie Meadows. Kinda like every year...
We went to the Fair. Again Boston walked around the whole time like a champ. We did end up having to leave because, once again, 4 hours of walking around and he got tired. He threw a bit of a fit about the water fountains that the kids were playing in and so we just decided to head out. I always feel like I miss so much when I go to the Fair. I see other peoples' posts and think "where was that?!" "how'd I miss that!?" Sometimes the lines are too long and we skip it but still. One day just doesn't seem like enough to get it all in. Maybe its not. Wallet says different though! LOL
Oh, yea. Scott went skydiving with Andrea and my Dad. That was pretty cool. Andrea loved it and wants to keep jumping I guess! I haven't worked up the nerve just yet. Now that all that court stuff is done, I might feel a little more comfortable. Knowing if something happens, Boston will be ok and no one will have to fight for him. :)
Boston had Tot T-ball again this summer. He was one of the bigger kids playing so I think that made him feel a little more confident and he had played last year so I think that helped also.
Hmm...what else did we do...?
I know we haven't (and probably wont be able to) gone to a Cubs game. I really wanted to take Boston to one since he actually kind of likes baseball.
We also haven't gotten around to going to the Ledges for a picnic. This was supposed to happen on Father's Day (I think) but we went to Saylorville instead. I could be remembering that whole thing totally wrong...I'm not sure.
Oh, and miniature golfing. We haven't done that yet either.
Next weekend is Boston's birthday party. I'm in no way ready! lol
I will attempt to add some pictures to the above events one by one. We'll see what I can get done :)
For now...its time to go home! YAY!!!
